resting like a shepherd

I try to incorporate retreats and resting into my regular rhythm, because I need to give space to listen to God for the direction of the ministry that I lead. This term, Ness and I decided to take a retreat together (sometimes it’s good to be able to listen to God and discuss it with somebody that you trust), and she found a shepherd’s hut on the edge of an estate in a country village.

We cooked our food over the fire, ate breakfast in a field and smelled all of the flowers in the beautiful garden that the hut sat across from. And as an added bonus, we took some maternity pictures to mark Ness being six months pregnant! It’s really nice to be able to have these little adventures before the little one makes an appearance later this summer.
