In December, just one week shy of the shortest day of the year, Katie and Luke were married in a small village hall in the Yorkshire Dales. They invited their closest friends to join them at a house beforehand, where everybody pitched in with getting ready and finishing off the wedding decorations. The meal was a bring and share and set out by a crew formed of their Bible college pals, and a lot of people chose to stay over to continue spending time together. I love how close-knit this wedding was!

I was also given free rein to experiment creatively, as Katie was keen to have 35 mm film at the wedding and knew that I used to shoot film quite a lot. I used different styles of photography across the day – I am fortunate to know Katie and Luke outside of their wedding, so I had an idea of what kind of shots they – and their families! – would appreciate.
