a different kind of armour

My teammate, Ina, is a fashion designer, and for every exhibition that we have, she designs a beautiful dress that illustrates something that God has been highlighting for her. She loves to make clothing that calls out the truth in people, instead of exploiting them or calling out their insecurities. I love to watch her creations go from sketches on the page to rolls of fabric to a dress on a person that tells a story.

For this dress, which Courtney modeled, she explored what the renewing of the mind looks like. We went to St. Luke’s Mews in Notting Hill to photograph Courtney in the dress. It is one of the most picturesque streets in the neighbourhood, but we photographed it in February, and even though Courtney is Canadian, she very nearly froze. But we met a beautiful dog, so perhaps he made up for it.
